This is a new position and an opportunity to become a member of the INT'L Medical Affairs (IMA) leadership team, serving as the IMA lead for strategic and operational activities from Global Medical Affairs (GMA), representing the countries and regions of China, Japan, Global Patient Solutions and Intercontinental (ICR).

Responsibilities
  • Demonstrates scientific and medical understanding of relevant disease states, products, and guidelines to address unmet needs, drive scientific leadership and find patient-centred approaches throughout INT'L organization
  • Serves as the IMA point of contact with GMA Strategic, Operations and therapeutic area teams to coordinate IMA region's implementation of medical strategies, key performance indicators, insight, technology, pipeline planning and Plan of Action (POA).
  • Utilises data analytics to uncover areas of opportunities within INT'L to enhance performance, efficiency and project management; tracking productivity and operational excellence of strategic initiatives with key performance Indicators (KPI).
  • Work closely with Human Resources Business Partner, Commercial, Government Affairs and Public Affairs to partner on communications strategy and preparation/content of business presentations; examples of deliverables include quarterly medical updates and dashboards, leadership meetings, project/initiative presentations, customer and partnership meetings, INT'L presentations, internal and external communications, and online/social media communications.
  • Develop and maintain detailed work plans on key INT'L initiatives which include identification of project tasks, clear milestones, and assignments of work project responsibilities, schedules, plans, resources, budget, and status reports.
  • Curate topical discussions for leadership team meetings and drive actions / follow-up process across the International Medical Affairs leaders.


Capabilities & Requirements
  • Educated to MD, PharmD, or PhD from an accredited university is required, with relevant professional experience in Medical Affairs from a pharma or large biotech company
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain scientific knowledge and credibility to effectively communicate and discuss scientific information with both internal and external stakeholders
  • Highly resourceful and strategic thinker with strong emotional intelligence, operational rigor and project management capabilities, able to directly manage a global team
  • Experience driving large initiatives from framing the problem, conducting research / analysis to building the business and operational plans
  • Strong leadership and communication skills across functions and leadership teams; comfort in business and technical discussions; ability to interface with Finance team to manage financials for INT'L MA
  • Previous experience of growing responsibility and management experience with broad exposure to multiple functions
  • Willingness to travel as needed (up to 30%)
