The Department of Physiological Sciences at the Eastern Virginia Medical School (EVMS) is seeking candidates for a tenure track faculty position at the Assistant/Associate Professor level.
Areas of strength in the Department include basic and translational research on fetal development and reproductive medicine, diabetes-obesity, ocular sciences, motor protein biochemistry/ biophysics and cardiovascular medicine. The candidate will have the opportunity to take advantage of a nonhuman primate colony to pursue research in maternal physiology, fetal-placental development and fetal programming as well as develop collaborations with basic and clinical faculty in other departments e.g. Pediatrics, Ob/Gyn and translational projects in maternal/fetal medicine. The applicant must demonstrate an ability to establish and lead an independent NIH funded research program.
The position will also involve participation in the teaching programs of the department to medical and health professions students and the Ph.D. Graduate Program in Biomedical Sciences.
Applicant must have a Ph.D. and or M.D., postdoctoral training.
