Postdoctoral fellow position available in the laboratory of Guangxiang George Luo in the Department of Microbiology at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. Research projects include: 1) to perform molecular, biochemical, and genetic studies of hepatitis B virus replication and pathogenesis; 2) to develop transgenic animal models of HBV infection and hepatocarcinogenesis, and 3) to identify cellular proteins required for HBV infection and replication and to determine the underlying mechanism of HBV and host interaction

Career development is a focus in the laboratory, with postdoctoral fellows expected to seek independent funding, network/collaborate and attend related conferences.
