A Parkinson’s disease research team led by Pietro De Camilli at the Yale School of Medicine seeks to hire a scientist to act as a Research Project Manager in support of a multi-PI collaborative project focused on the elucidation of cellular mechanisms underlying the pathogenesis of Parkinson’s disease (https://www.michaeljfox.org/grant/impaired-integration-organelle-function-parkinsons-disease).

As this project will be carried out in cooperation with a large international network, the Program Manager, which will be hired in a “research faculty” track, will perform a broad array of tasks that promote collaborative research across multiple laboratories and institutions. We therefore seek an individual with excellent communication, writing and organizational skills. Major responsibilities will include: communicating with funding agencies; preparing research documents and presentations; monitoring project budgets and timelines; managing shared resources and scheduling team meetings.

The applicant should have a doctoral degree in a biological discipline, with a preference for neuroscience. Postdoctoral research experience and/or experience as an independent investigator is also preferred. Research management experience is a plus. Outstanding interpersonal skills, enthusiasm for working with others, drive to learn and passion for science are required. The candidate must have the ability to think critically, prioritize, and multitask to meet deadlines. The candidate will work with guidance, but must be able to operate independently.

While we are prepared to hire at full-time effort, this position is flexible and could also allow for a candidate who wishes to work part-time.

To apply, please submit a cover letter, curriculum vitae, and the name and addresses of three people willing to provide references. We value diversity and welcome applications from all backgrounds. All application materials should be submitted electronically to apply.interfolio.com/82112 Applications will be reviewed as they are received and until the position is filled with priority given to those applications received by January 20, 2021.

Yale University is an Affirmative Action/Equal Opportunity employer. Yale values diversity among its students, staff, and faculty and strongly welcomes applications from women, persons with disabilities, protected veterans, and underrepresented minorities.
