1. A postdoctoral position in HIV neurogenomics and epitranscriptomics is available. The successful candidate will join a multi-disciplinary team focused on the cell-specific retroviral integration and transcriptomic shifts in the dopaminergic circuitry of postmortem brain diagnosed with HIV and substance abuse co-morbidity. The project will investigate tissue from the Manhattan HIV brain bank, primary cell cultures and eventually induced pluripotent stem cell (iPSC)-based model systems. Candidates should have a Ph.D. and a strong background in molecular biology and genomics. Those with experience in single cell genomic approaches or stem cell-based techniques are encouraged to apply.
2. A postdoctoral position for HIV xenograft modeling of neuroinflammation is available. The successful candidate will join a multi-disciplinary team exploring cellular and molecular mechanisms of HIV infection and inflammation associated with human progenitor cell-derived immune cells xenografted into the mouse. This highly interdisciplinary project will involve experimental neuropharmacology and behavioral studies in mouse model systems complemented by iPSC-based studies in cell culture. Candidates should have a Ph.D. and a strong background in translational models of neurological and immunological disease.
