in » Ground-Based High-Speed Transportation Systems «

to begin in winter semester 2021/22. The position is a tenured W3 position.

Scientific Environment
The professorship will be assigned to the TUM Department of Aerospace and Geodesy and in the future also the TUM School of Engineering and Design. Furthermore, collaboration with aerospace industrial partners in the area of Munich will be pursued.

Responsibilities
The responsibilities include research and teaching as well as the promotion of early-career scientists. We seek to appoint an expert in the research area of high-speed transportation systems with a focus on driving forward technically and scientifically important key and system technologies as well as contributing to the demonstration of the feasibility of the hyperloop concept in the context of system demonstrators. Teaching responsibilities include courses in the university’s bachelor and master programs.

Qualifications
We are looking for candidates with an exceptional international research and teaching reputation and an established academic record through an internationally recognized research program. A university degree and an outstanding doctoral degree or equivalent scientific qualification, as well as pedagogical aptitude, are prerequisites. Substantial research experience abroad is expected.
Furthermore, proven experience in one of the key technologies and high overall system competence is desired.
