The Department of Preventive Medicine together with the Robert H. Lurie Comprehensive Cancer Center, Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine, seeks to hire an outstanding scientist with extensive experience in conducting cancer molecular epidemiology research for a tenure-track faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor.

Candidates should have demonstrable expertise and original research in conducting large population-based cancer research and/or randomized trials of cancer in human populations. Requirements include a doctoral degree in epidemiology, genetics, medicine, or a related field. Preference will be given to individuals with current external funding. Strong candidates will have a record of multidisciplinary and translational, and longitudinal population-based research in cancer, experiences and expertise in cancer risk factors (e.g., dietary, environmental, and social-cultural factors, and viral infection) and cancer biomarkers, in particular, multi-omic biomarkers, and demonstration of collaborative experience with clinical or laboratory-based scientists.

The Department of Preventive Medicine and the Lurie Cancer Center jointly provide a rich platform for research including a broad and diverse scientific portfolio of cancer-related studies, biostatistical and health informatics cores, expertise in multi-level assessment methods and technology implementation, and collaborative relationships across Northwestern’s biomedical and life sciences campuses. Because an interdisciplinary, collaborative orientation is a defining element of the Department and the Cancer Center, both provide an ideal home for scholars who are collaborative, integrative, and interdisciplinary.
