Postdoctoral Research Associate Senior
Postdoctoral Research Associate Sr. This position will join the PI’s efforts in understanding the role select mediators in the progression of lung fibrosis with a focus on the visceral pleura. Candidate will perform in vitro and in vivo experiments and contribute to the laboratory research program. He/She will organize, design, and perform experiments utilizing molecular biology, and /or biochemical techniques and assays, including performing animal experiments, maintaining mammalian cell cultures, transfections. They will also be responsible for independently performing basic laboratory assays such as RNA isolation, cDNA synthesis, qPCR, western blotting, ELISA and the requisite statistical analyses. MAJOR DUTIES / CRITICAL TASKS: • Perform experiments in vitro and in vivo (75%) • Prepare written reports of ongoing research, abstracts for presentation at international society meetings, manuscripts for publication and grant proposals (20%) • Make scientific presentations and performs other work-related duties as assigned (5%). REQUIRED EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE: • Ph.D., MD or equivalent degree • Strong background in cellular molecular biology with a focus in cell signaling with related protein and RNA analyses. • Prior experience in animal experimentation, specifically lung fibrosis modeling, is preferred.
