ROLE SUMMARY:

The Sr. Associate Project Manager (PM), North America Medical Affairs (NAMA), Inflammation & Immunology (I&I) is a project and process development role within Medical Affairs. The Sr. Associate PM position leads complex, cross-functional projects on behalf of Medical Affairs leadership that result in the stated deliverables on time, within budget, and with the full engagement of cross-functional partners. Working closely with the project's sponsor, the Sr. Associate PM performs a variety of activities in support of assigned functional area and committee needs with an eye to proactive strategic thinking around effectively progressing projects and continually making processes and efficiency improvements. The Sr. Associate PM defines and leads the overall project plan and in doing so compiles, reviews, and analyzes data as well as manages and ensures completion of project milestones. The Sr. Associate PM leads project meetings and utilizes applicable software for the functional area to compile and generate reports, flow charts, timelines, tables, graphs, correspondence and presentations (iMed, SharePoint) for the project sponsor. As a strategic partner to the NAMA field medical leadership and project sponsor, the Sr. Associate PM designs processes to enhance workflow and make process improvements and prepares and delivers reports to the project sponsor and other functional units.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Lead complex, cross-functional projects within North America Medical Affairs which includes defining and implementing the vision for the project and goals with input from the project sponsor and project team members; leading the development of an implementation plan for the project; making decisions to drive projects and achieve agreed upon milestones; lead cross-functional team members to ensure work is completed as agreed upon; :
  • Managing meetings and communications for teams to drive efficient decision making
  • Serves as subject matter expert for the team processes and tools related to project/process planning and delivery such as the ePA3 Tool, MRC process, SharePoint, Ariba
  • Understand team and governance structure with NA MA, accountabilities and requirements, as well as how partner lines interact as part of matrixed teams.
    Application of in-depth analysis and identification of multiple solutions to complex problems; shape courses of action with project sponsor utilizing the ability to manage complex projects and cross-functional processes;
  • Demonstrated ability to provide to management objective advice and assistance relating to the strategy, structure, management, and operations of an organization in pursuit of its long-term purposes and objectives. Such assistance may include the identification of options with recommendations; the provision of additional resources and/or the implementation of solutions including mitigation planning; Negotiate solutions with cross-functional team members and partners to address unforeseen circumstances or new developments;
  • Champion of change and best practices regarding project and process management utilizing demonstrated knowledge of continuous improvement practices and methodologies;
  • Proactively address project inquiries when the project sponsor is not available including addressing inquiries not requiring PLs direct attention in order to keep project/decisions on track.
  • Partner with Legal, Contracts and Outsourcing and finance, and external customers when appropriate, to develop and execute consultant agreements, service level agreements, program schedules, and Confidential Disclosure Agreements, and support of other project management financial activities as needed including invoice routing, approval and tracking related to the project.


QUALIFICATIONS:

Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree and 4 years of related experience required;
  • Strong technical knowledge of computer systems and programs required and understanding of Medical Affairs priorities, strategies, and activities across North America;

  • Develop and maintain systems to manage data capture/tracking including complex Excel spreadsheets, if needed, as part of this also investigate new ways to collect information for project enhancement;
  • Lead communication of updates to project status reports and coordination and development of presentations;
  • Develop and administer surveys in coordination with project sponsors;
  • Regularly track and verify data and information from multiple stakeholders in order to facilitate resolution;
  • Provide information and training for new project management system users.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Demonstrates expert knowledge and proficiency with general office procedures such as customer service, commonly used office software (e.g., MS Office-Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Microsoft Project, Acronis) and expert knowledge of Pfizer specific processes and procedures applicable to the line/Site (e.g., GCE, ARIBA, functional area databases, Pfizer IT platforms). Skilled in utilizing the following Pfizer applications and systems: Teleconference & WebEx Services, SharePoint (advanced skill necessary to train new team members), and software unique to Medical Affairs including iMed, and MEDIC.
  • Possesses excellent communication skills with an ability to respond with professionalism in verbal as well as written communications. Able to interact, influence and work effectively with a diverse group of colleagues, senior leaders, and peers;
  • Demonstrates owning accountability and resourcefulness with ability to anticipate needs. Display excellent attention to detail;
  • Must be able to work independently, be proactive and self-motivated with strong organizational skills. Need to possess the ability to manage priorities, and handle multiple tasks with frequent, tight deadlines;
  • Ability to lead and work independently in a team environment with minimal supervision;
  • Excellent judgment and ability to work with confidential documents and information;
  • Exhibit excellent problem-solving skills, consistently demonstrating resourcefulness and perseverance through ambiguous situations, and be solution oriented.
