ROLE SUMMARY

The Facilities/Utilities Sr. Manager's primary function is to direct the Utilities/Facilities Business Unit to ensure efficient, economical, continuous and safe utilization of existing and future plant facilities while in compliance with all cGMP's. This position provides utility service (Electricity, WFI, DI, DW, OFCA and CW) to all users. Maintains and improves the facility, grounds and utility operations. Areas of responsibly include the Boiler Room, HVAC, Power Distribution Network, Housekeeping and Building Maintenance.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Maintains all critical site GMP utilities including compressed air, nitrogen, carbon dioxide, and water for injection, and clean steam.
  • Ensures continuous and economical use of plant utilities by leading the site energy team and owning the site utilities and facilities master planning process.
  • Prepares annual utility budgets and controls these costs on a continuing basis.
  • Develops and implements a utility plan that ensures both immediate and long-range supply of electrical power, compressed air, process water, steam and HVAC for classified clean room environments. This role is the primary liaison to tracking site energy usage and reporting key energy projects in related to site energy reduction in the areas of water, wastewater, natural gas, and electricity.
  • Assures the cleanliness of the plant interior and exterior in accordance with cGMP practices and other requirements of the FDA and other regulatory bodies including leading the pest control program
  • Ensures that the plant maintains in good standing with respect to pollution control, waste disposal and use of public utilities.
  • Provides engineering support to construction projects and capital equipment projects.
  • Provide an integrated facilities management program to include site services, steam plant, and facilities services.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned or required.


BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
  • Minimum bachelor's degree in engineering or technical equivalent with 10+ years of relevant experience required.
  • Master's degree in engineering or technical equivalent with 5+ years of relevant experience required.
  • Understanding of business functions (planning, budgeting, etc.), regulatory requirements, and environmental control.
  • Strong oral and written communications skills.
  • Previous supervisory experience required.


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Certified Energy Manager (CEM) certification.
  • Certified Maintenance and Reliability Professional (CMRP) certification.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) License.
  • Candidate demonstrates a breadth of diverse leadership experiences and capabilities including: the ability to influence and collaborate with peers, develop and coach others, oversee and guide the work of other colleagues to achieve meaningful outcomes and create business impact.


PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Ability to perform complex data analysis and develop/manage detailed programs.
  • Ability to present plans and status updates to leadership and a broad range of stakeholders across the organization.


NON-STANDARD WORK SCHEDULE, TRAVEL OR ENVIRONMENT REQUIREMENTS
  • Ability to travel infrequently as necessary to support global programs.
