Role Responsibilities
  • This position is located in Boulder, Colorado and reports to the Senior Director of Toxicology.
  • The role is responsible for supporting all activities of the toxicology group.
  • She/he will provide expertise in histology services in support of in-house toxicology studies.
  • Additionally, the scientist will be conducting exploratory safety pharmacology and toxicology studies.
  • An ideal candidate will be able to act independently and collaboratively within and across the department.
  • Conduct In-house Research in Toxicology and Safety Pharmacology.
  • Histology services for non-GLP rodent studies including IHC/special stains.
  • Design and perform non-GLP toxicology and safety pharmacology studies.
  • Support in vivo Pharmacology studies, as needed.
  • In vivo data collection, analysis and interpretation.
  • Keep overall corporate strategy/objectives aligned with role.
  • SOP and quality document creation for histology activities


BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's Degree with 10+ years of experience or Master's Degree with 7+ years of experience in research in the pharmaceutical industry with a degree focus in life science.
  • Extensive in vivo and histology expertise required
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both written and oral


PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Must be able to lift 15 lbs.
  • Must be able to work with rodents.


NON-STANDARD WORK SCHEDULE, TRAVEL OR ENVIRONMENT REQUIREMENTS
  • Certification as a histotechnologist (HTL) with qualification in immunohistochemistry through ASCP BOC or another accrediting body.
