Are you looking for a challenging opportunity that allows you to leverage your technical expertise to accelerate delivery in biopharmaceuticals? If so, this Biopharmaceuticals Investigator role could be an exciting opportunity to explore.

The MS and Characterization group is well equipped with modern instrumentation including various mass spectrometers, UPLC, FTIR, AUC, DSC, CD, MALS, particle analysis and many other supporting instrumentation and associated data analysis software packages. This position will be in the Structure and Function Characterization Department of the CMC Analytical Organization.

This role will provide YOU the opportunity to lead key activities to progress YOUR career, these responsibilities include some of the following:

  • Develop methods for characterizing and quantifying various protein therapeutics higher order structure properties such as secondary and tertiary structure.
  • Develop and implement various methods for analysis and characterization of protein therapeutics aggregates and particle formation.
  • Provide high quality data and aid in drafting of CMC documents for regulatory submissions
  • Represent line function in project teams and/or sub teams.

Basic Qualifications:


We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals:
  • A BS or MS degree in protein biochemistry, biophysics, pharmaceutical sciences or related fields
  • 5 or more years of experience for a BS degree in biotech or pharmaceutical industry
  • 2 or more years of experience for a MS degree in biotech or pharmaceutical industry


Preferred Qualifications:

If you have the following characteristics, it would be a plus:

  • Extensive knowledge and experience in protein structure analysis such as secondary and tertiary structure, protein folding-unfolding, aggregates, and particles characterization and quantification using various spectroscopic and biophysical techniques including FTIR, CD, VCD, Raman, DSC, AUC, Fluorescence, SEC-MALS, particle analysis technologies (FlowCam, MFI, SEM-EDS and HIAC).
  • Experience in employing protein higher order structure characterization in the development of protein therapeutics including process development, product characterization, degradation pathway analysis and comparability evaluation.
  • Experienced in designing and executing forced degradation studies of protein therapeutics and developing strategies in establishing/understand protein structure -function relationships.
  • Experience in leading or participating in multidisciplinary project team and sub-team, and excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
