ROLE SUMMARY

Reporting to the US Dermatology Team Lead, the US Senior Medical Director will lead the planning and execution of medical strategies and associated tactics for Pfizer's dermatology pipeline asset abrocitinib. The Senior Medical Director will work collaboratively across the broader medical team (e.g. field medical, medical outcomes specialists, outcomes research colleagues) to develop and execute an effective cross-functional medical launch plan. The US Senior Medical Director will partner cross-functionally with medical teams, health and value functions, clinical development, legal, compliance and commercial teams to execute activities. The Senior Medical Director will anticipate and plan for future trends in medical affairs. The Senior Medical Director will also develop long-term relationships with a wide variety of key healthcare stakeholders and customers to include key opinion leaders. The US Senior Medical Director will utilize his/her understanding of clinical and patient-directed issues to help develop appropriate strategies and tactics. The Senior Medical Director will also provide Pfizer brand teams with customer and clinical insights to assist in informing Pfizer strategies.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Lead the cross-functional medical launch team for abrocitinib
  • Work collaboratively and effectively with colleagues from medical outcomes specialist function, field medical, outcomes research, medical information and other partner lines to advance the medical strategy for abrocitinib
  • Partner with constituents from commercial and other cross functional colleagues to drive US strategic direction for the Brand
  • Participate in reviewing & approving promotional materials, ensuring fair balance
  • Ability to think strategically to develop medical strategies and tactics to advance the medical affairs operating plan with long term strategic view anticipating future trends in healthcare, medical to medical communication and digital environment
  • Support the planning and execution of medical advisory boards
  • Ability to contribute to publication planning, data generation activities and other medical/scientific activities related to informing HCPs on appropriate use of Pfizer's medicines
  • Serve as a reliable, trusted source of accurate scientific knowledge, disease state knowledge, product label and competitive data sets for clinical trials in dermatology


BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
  • PhD or PharmD or any other advanced biomedical degree
  • 10 years experience or more in medical affairs or other relevant experience
  • Experience in medical affairs launch planning
  • Cross functional effectiveness with demonstration of effective collaboration within and across partner lines
  • Leading effectively in a matrix with proven track record of ability to work successfully with cross-functional colleagues
  • Demonstrated ability to execute strategies and projects from inception to completion
  • Very strong communications and relationship building capacity


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Clinical and disease knowledge in dermatological diseases
  • Regulatory and/or clinical development experience
  • Candidate demonstrates a breadth of diverse leadership experiences and capabilities including: the ability to influence and collaborate with peers, develop and coach others, oversee and guide the work of other colleagues to achieve meaningful outcomes and create business impact.Relocation support available
