The Max Planck Florida Institute for Neuroscience in Jupiter Florida (www.mpfi.org) is in the process of identifying a new director with expertise in neural circuit research.

The Max Planck Florida Institute is focused on novel approaches to understanding the structure, function, and development of neural circuits in the vertebrate brain. We invite applications from highly creative investigators with an exceptional record of scientific accomplishment in a broad range of disciplines relevant to the analysis of circuits that mediate sensory, motor, cognitive, or affective processes. We are especially interested in investigators whose research program includes development of technologies that break new ground in the interrogation of neural circuits.

These positions provide generous startup resources, guaranteed annual operating budgets, and access to state of the art core facilities for light microscopy, electron microscopy, molecular biology, information technology, mechanical design, and animal care.

The Max Planck Florida Institute for Neuroscience is part of the prestigious Max Planck Society, Germany’s most successful research organization. Since its establishment in 1948, 20 Nobel laureates have emerged from the ranks of its scientists, putting it on a par with the best and most prestigious research institutions worldwide.
