RESEARCH FACULTY in Reproductive Endocrine Research

Reproductive Endocrine Unit, Endocrine Division, Massachusetts General Hospital, Boston MA

The Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH) Reproductive Endocrine Unit (Boston, Massachusetts) seeks applicants for an independent research faculty member who will also have a faculty position at the Associate Professor level at Harvard Medical School, effective April 1, 2021, or soon thereafter. The successful applicant will be responsible for leading a successful, independently-funded research program on the biology of reproductive endocrinology and hypothalamic networks that control reproduction.

The Reproductive Endocrine Unit within the Endocrine Division at the MGH is composed of full time clinical and faculty who are experts in clinical and investigative reproductive endocrinology. The Unit is exceptionally collaborative and attracts world-class predoctoral and postdoctoral trainees from our leading Endocrine Fellowship and academic institutions worldwide. The Unit is a National Center for Translational Research in Reproduction and Infertility funded by the National Institute of Child Health and Development (NIH). It is home to a sophisticated research infrastructure for conducting research on reproduction in humans and model systems.

We are seeking a faculty member who will lead an independent research group of investigators focused on the hypothalamic circuitry of reproduction using model systems. Applicants should have Ph.D. and/or M.D. degrees and a track record of exceptional accomplishments in basic or translational research. The successful applicant will have an innovative research program with clear potential to make transformative discoveries. The new faculty member’s program will be expected to dovetail and synergize with the Reproductive Endocrine Unit. Candidates must be superb scientists, possess exceptional managerial and collaborative skills, have clear evidence for national/international recognition, and demonstrate commitment to teaching and mentorship. The final candidate should expect to engage fully in the research environment of the Unit, participating in the administrative and educational activities including (but not limited to) scientific meetings, Visiting Professor research sessions, faculty meetings, and journal clubs. The new faculty member will serve as a resource for faculty, staff and trainees learning in the wet laboratory. S/he will maintain a safe, organized laboratory space and be compliant with all institutional and national regulations.

Successful candidates will be provided with office and laboratory space, as well as access to state-of-the-art research resources for conducting research at the MGH and across the greater Harvard community. Formal access to research resources at the Broad Institute is also possible through association with a one of the Institute’s Research Programs.

We are an equal opportunity employer and all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, disability status, protected veteran status, gender identity, sexual orientation, pregnancy and pregnancy-related conditions or any other characteristic protected by law.

Massachusetts General Hospital encourages applications from women and underrepresented minorities.
