The Vector Biology group at the US Research and Development Center, GSK Vaccines, is responsible for designing, characterizing and optimizing viral vector platforms for vaccine delivery, with a focus on RNA vaccines They provide key molecular biology and cell biology support to all GSK Vaccine projects and platforms. This group is also responsible for implementing new techniques and technology to improve current RNA based vaccine and to generate and characterize new RNA vector-based vaccines.

We are looking for a highly motivated scientist, with proven record in utilizing the most up to date molecular biology and cell biology techniques, preferably in a high-throughput environment, to take a role in generating and testing new vaccine candidates

As a Scientist, you will be contributing to various studies and be responsible for delivering pre-clinical and clinical data analysis. This role will provide YOU the opportunity to lead key activities to progress YOUR career, these responsibilities include some of the following…
  • To provide expertise in the areas of DNA cloning, in-vitro RNA transcription and cell-based assay characterization of vaccine candidates
  • Support the evaluation of novel vaccine candidates in vitro
  • Work with other scientists to design and develop new assays and technologies to support RNA vaccine generation and evaluation


Why you?

Basic Qualifications:

We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals:
  • Master with at least 0+ years of experience in Molecular Biology, Virology, Cell Biology, or related disciplines
  • Experience in molecular biology and cloning
  • Laboratory experience working with RNA and/or DNA
  • Knowledge of RNA and DNA chemistry and biology and standard analysis methods relevant to these molecules (ex. PCR, qPCR, cloning, gel electrophoresis, CE, etc.)
  • Familiar with common molecular biology software, e.g. Geneious.


Preferred Qualifications:

If you have the following characteristics, it would be a plus:
  • Working experience with mRNA based vaccines or therapeutics and/or viral vectors
  • Experience with cell-based assays development, testing and troubleshooting
  • Track-record of scientific publications in peer-reviewed journals
