Are you a junior scientist looking to progress in your field of Immuno-Oncology? The Immuno-Oncology & Combinations Research Unit (IOC RU) is seeking an innovative and highly motivated Sr. Scientist with experience in immuno-oncology or immunology to join our team. In this lab-based role, the successful candidate will be responsible for designing and delivering biological work packages to support preclinical development of immune-based therapies for cancer. This role will provide YOU the opportunity to lead key activities to progress YOUR career. These responsibilities include some of the following :

Building on your background in immuno-oncology/immunology, you will expand state-of-the-art in vitro and ex vivo assay capabilities at a growing GSK site. You will cultivate and work in a dynamic and collaborative environment and interrogate mechanisms of action and pharmacology of novel therapeutics, supporting GSK's diverse immuno-oncology pipeline from early discovery to first-time-in-human commitment.

You will need to be a creative, innovative self-starter, with excellent verbal and written communication skills. You will be accountable for generating high quality, robust data and must have an ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary matrix team. Additionally, you will need to be proactive, open to the ideas of others, and have a deep curiosity and enthusiasm for uncovering novel biology with a translational mind-set.

Why You?

Basic Qualifications:

  • B.S./B.A. plus 5 years or M.S. with 3 years of experience in immunology, immuno-oncology, or a related field.
  • Hands-on experience with multi-color flow cytometry, multiplexed cytokine quantification, and mixed cell assay systems suitable for functional characterization of biologics, small molecules and drug combinations in primary immune cells.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with a range of immune cells types, incl. lymphocytes and multiple myeloid cell types, is preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to independently design, conduct, and analyze pharmacology studies.
  • Prior experience with isolation, phenotypical and functional characterization of human tumor-infiltrating leukocytes is advantageous.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to contribute in a cross-functional and global environment.
  • Ability to prioritize, manage time efficiently, and implement creative solutions to meet program needs.
  • High degree of independence, proactivity, and a strong sense of accountability.
