Global Medical Affairs facilitates the understanding of the value of our vaccines, the science behind them and the public health impact they can offer by developing and executing global scientific and access strategies, based on evidence gaps identified and insights gathered from scientific and patient communities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • You execute the Medical and access strategy for the assigned product
  • You execute the Medical operational Plans (MoPs)
  • You participate as appropriate in the Access Stream for the assigned asset and representing the medical voice.
  • You assist in developing a clinical development strategy for phase 3b and 4 studies, including post-approval commitments, and investigator sponsored studies that supports the evidence needs of delivering or expanding the value proposition in line with customer needs
  • You work in partnership with clinical development and central and regional partner functions, to optimize the clinical development plans in support of a robust file and life cycle strategy.
  • You develop new medical affairs communication and training materials under the appropriate approval framework.
  • You are responsible for ensuring that materials and activities of the assigned vaccine are implemented in a manner that is compliant with Scientific Engagement principles, GSK's Code of Practice and GSK values.
  • You represent the medical voice into the vaccine development and commercial streams (VDS) in alignment with the GMAL/L-GMAL.
  • You ensure that all communications are scientifically accurate, balanced, remain aligned with product strategy, and compliant to applicable laws and regulations

Basic Qualifications:

We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals:
  • Advanced Degree (in life sciences, immunology, vaccinology, infectious diseases, public health and/or epidemiology)
  • Prior pharmaceutical industry experience, acquired through global or Regional/Local Medical Affairs or non-Medical Affairs relevant functional areas is a strong asset
  • Acknowledged ability to constructively interact cross-functionally
  • Interaction experience with external experts (EE's), governmental officials or advocacy groups.
  • Ability to take a solid fact-based position
  • Ability to develop and review independently new materials based on strategy, core evidence documents and communication strategy
  • Proficiency in common office programs Word, PPT, Excel
  • Fluent in English

Preferred Qualifications:

If you have the following characteristics, it would be a plus:
  • MD or PhD in Life Sciences
  • Additional relevant assets:
  • Ability to absorb, analyze and distil new clinical, epidemiological, HO, basic science information to the topic
  • Relevant experience vaccinology, epidemiology is a strong asset
  • Experience in organizing activities involving EE's, such as symposia or CME
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Speaker experience on scientific/medical topics in fora of different audiences
  • Publication experience
  • Some experience with review & approval processes in a highly regulated setting.
  • Some experience of interacting and managing external vendors
