DEPARTMENT OF APPLIED BIOLOGY AND CHEMICAL TECHNOLOGY
The Department of Applied Biology and Chemical Technology is a multi-disciplinary department in PolyU with diversified specialties in biology, biotechnology, chemistry, biochemistry, nutrition and food science. The Department’s research focus is in the interdisciplinary areas of chemistry, biology, nutrition and food science. There are about 52 faculty members in the Department. Research Assistant Professor in Energy Science / Molecular Biology / Traditional Chinese Medicine (several posts) (Ref. 20112019)
The appointees will be required to (a) conduct research as the main duty and actively pursue external research grants, such as General Research Fund, as Principal Investigator or Co-Investigator; (b) provide quality teaching at undergraduate or postgraduate level; and (c) contribute to departmental service.
For the posts in the discipline of Traditional Chinese Medicine, the appointees will also be required to establish their research laboratories in the Shenzhen Research Base of the University.
Applicants should (a) have a doctoral degree in related disciplines; (b) have demonstrated promise of a high level of creative ability in research and teaching in some subdivisions of his/her field; (c) be able to demonstrate effective classroom teaching skills; and (d) be highly proficient in written and spoken English.
Remuneration and Conditions of Service
A highly competitive remuneration package will be offered. Appointments will only be on a fixed-term gratuity-bearing contract. Applicants should state their current and expected salary in the application.
