Job Responsibilities

The research assistant I is responsible for receiving, processing, labeling, documenting and tracking biopspecimes received for clinical protocols and biobanking. They are accountable for performing all assigned tasks with full attention and accuracy to maintain the integrity of the biospecimens and storage processes.
  • Perform all functions methodically and in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Adhere to MD Anderson policies and procedures and any other regulatory requirements
  • Handle biospecimnes in a manner that is safe and maintains required temperatures
  • Follow all safety requirements for working with biological samples and chemicals.
  • Utilize various database for biospecimen documentation and ensure chain of custody fro all activities.

Education Required: Bachelor's degree, major course work in one of the basic sciences.

Experience Required: No experience.
