Reporting to the Sr. Director, R&D Portfolio Strategy & Analytics, theAssociate Director will contribute to building key development portfolio processes, analytics and strategy. This role will partner with cross-organizational groups to gather data and insights and will lead analytical processes that will support Gilead portfolio optimization. The role will support the PS&A leadership in presentation and communication of the deliverables, including insights and recommendations, to both R&D leadership as well as the broader Gilead leadership team.

Key Responsibilities:

 

 

 

  • Work with cross-functional teams to define and prepare frameworks that drives strategic processes and portfolio analytics
  • Leverage strategic and analytical expertise to implement new portfolio management analysis approaches, tools, and capabilities
  • Collaborate with teams and functions to gather data from diverse sources and perform rigorous analyses to enable data driven decisions
  • Distill and synthesize complex results so they are understandable and actionable
  • Support dynamic portfolio prioritization and project assessments

 


Minimum Qualifications:

 

 

 

 

  • BA or a BS in Sciences, Business, Finance or similar and relevant discipline with 5-7 years of experience in strategic and analytical roles in a pharma/biotech or consulting; Advanced degree preferred (MBA/MS/PhD)
  • Working knowledge of the pharmaceutical/biotech landscape, R&D trends, decision analysis, business strategy and markets in major disease areas
  • Experience working on cross functional teams through communication and facilitation skills

 

 

 

 

  • Knowledge of analytics methodologies, data processing frameworks, skilled in Excel is a must
  • Proven ability framing and solving complex problem and the analytical ability to interpret and communicate them effectively
  • Evidence of strategic thinking, communication, analytical, planning and organizational skills required from previous work
  • Previous experience in a portfolio analytics position and/or knowledge of portfolio analytics tools such as Planisware is a plus
