Must have a strong knowledge of the overall pharmaceutical industry with strong sales knowledge and excellent verbal, written, interpersonal, influencing and negotiation skills. Is familiar with industry trends and remains current with competitor's resources and practices. Must be able to analyze moderately complex data and put together effective concise reports while meeting all deadlines. Must be able to formulate and execute development strategy. Must be able to build strong KOL relationships. Excellent analytical skills, and able to identify and understand complex issues and problems, and interpret information in a manner that provides appropriate recommendations to senior management is required. Experience to include an in depth familiarity with marketing fundamentals, strategy, sales and commercial policies and practices is required. Demonstrated ability to conceive, develop and implement multi-dimensional business plans. Must have a demonstrated ability to manage budgets. Demonstrated excellence in project management and effectively managing multiple projects/priorities is required. Must have an in depth understanding of relevant marketplace for their role. Must be able to travel extensively as dictated by business need. Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel, Power Point and Word. Must have basic conversational and written English.`
Specific education and experience requirements:
Typically requires a BA or BS degree, preferably in the sciences or business related disciplines or a nursing qualification and minimum 8 years experience in pharmaceutical or relevant industry and which includes 1-2 years relevant therapeutic experience.

Specific job responsibilities:
This role could either be responsible for direct management of the sales and marketing functions of a small subsidiary or it could be responsible for management of Distributor companies across a larger territory. Although the roles may vary the core requirements of the role are the same.

Responsible for business developments in assigned geographic area. When existing, deals with distributors in terms of distribution agreements and conditions, setting targets and business plans. Works with product management to identify marketing needs and provides revisions on corporate marketing literature and medical strategies to meet local needs and provides these to distributors/sales forces.
Manages either Gilead sales team or distributor companies, to ensure business objectives and targets are achieved. Plans forecasts, manages operating budgets and monitors expenses. May have profit and loss responsibility. Develops and maintains good relationships with all key opinion leaders of the area. Utilizes systems to monitor sales progress and success of marketing initiatives and action plans. Represents company at professional events and promotes company products at such events. Forms, builds and extends profitable business relationships with key customers or accounts.
