The Position

This role will join a small team of Reward professionals supporting the organisation across a region that includes Europe, Australia and Canada. The primary focus of the role is on compensation activity (benefits are taken care of by another part of the same team), although there will be a need to work in partnership with the benefits lead.

It is anticipated that 75% of the role will be focused on client support within the region, with 25% of the role supporting our global Compensation Programs and Operations team, giving the person a chance to work on and influence globally determined processes such as the annual pay review.

Day to day, the role will need to partner with the HR Business Partners in countries for whom they own the relationship - this will mean supporting on cyclical activity such as pay review, stock awards and performance management as well as ad-hoc work needed by the business in those countries. The incumbent will need to build a strong relationship with the Talent Acquisition team to support the growth in the organisation. This role supports countries with works councils and analysis /support would be expected to answer questions coming from those bodies.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop cost models, forecast analyses and plan design recommendations
  • Consult and advise managers and HRBPs on all compensation related questions
  • Evaluate and perform deep analysis on pay market positioning and salary structure to ensure market competitiveness in support of overall comp strategy
  • Participate in the annual market analysis process and develop ranges and structures
  • Analyse market movement by job family and country and implement changes in preparation for annual review cycle
  • Create new jobs and ranges as needed to support hiring needs
  • Conduct a range of research and analysis for policies and programs


Knowledge, Experience and Skills:
  • Demonstrated compensation background in the following areas: base salary, variable pay and performance management, job evaluation, complex data analysis and modelling
  • Strong project management and consultative skills required in order to be able to lead Total Rewards projects with international scope
  • Demonstrated experience of managing clients in a compensation capacity (Pharma/Biotech a plus)
  • Ability to apply critical thinking to novel situations
  • Understanding and experience of salary surveys, job matching and levelling (WTW would be a plus)
  • Team-focused and collaborative
  • Educated to degree level or above is desired
  • Advanced proficiency with Excel, Word and Powerpoint
  • Experience using Workday is advantageous
