The Department of Microbiology and Immunology at Indiana University School of Medicine (Mark H. Kaplan, Department Chair) is accepting applications for tenure-track faculty positions at the Assistant, Associate or Full Professor rank. We seek scientists who will bolster our diverse research portfolio. Candidates conducting cutting-edge research in pathogenesis of infectious disease are encouraged to apply. Areas of specific interest include viral pathogenesis, bacterial pathogenesis, and the interaction of the microbiome with immune responses. However, outstanding candidates in any area of infectious disease will be considered.

Successful applicants are expected to have or obtain external grant support and participate in teaching microbiology/immunology-based courses to graduate and medical students. Candidates should hold a Ph.D., M.D., or M.D./Ph.D. and demonstrate a record of productive research. Academic credentials and existing extramural grant support will determine faculty rank. Highly competitive start-up packages are available including ample laboratory space.
