Role Summary

We are seeking a talented scientist to join the Enzymology/HTS group at the Pfizer- Boulder Research and Development Unit. This individual will work closely with senior group members to develop, run, and analyze medium and high throughput enzymatic assays and report data to project teams. This individual will also develop templates for data analysis to be used by other group members and help to maintain the compound collection to support screening.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and trouble shoot enzymatic assays
  • Provide weekly assay support for project teams
  • Program automated liquid handlers
  • Automate and run Medium and High Throughput Screens
  • Develop templates for data analysis using PerkinElmer Signals products
  • Manage compound collection and related inventory software
  • Document data
  • Contribute to written and oral presentations related to research findings


Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science with 3+ years' or Master of Science in Biology, Biochemistry, Chemistry or Engineering with 0-2 years' research experience after graduation.
  • Experience with biochemical or biophysical assays of enzymes
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and written/oral communication skills with high attention to detail.


Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with programming laboratory automated liquid handlers
  • Experience with developing data analysis templates
  • Database or programming experience
  • Experience in mechanistic enzymology


Physical/Mental Requirements
  • Able to lift 25lb objects with dimensions 12 inches in height and 26 inches in width
  • Able to perform mathematical calculations and complex data analysis


Non-Standard Work Schedule or Environment Requirements
  • Able to adhere to safe work practices and perform lab work with appropriate personal protection equipment such as but not limited to safety goggles, facial mask, gloves, lab coat/ protective gowning, and closed toe shoes.
  • Able to work flexible hours occasionally when performing time-sensitive experiments.
