Qualified postdoctoral candidates are invited to join the laboratory of Dr. Vassilis Koliatsos at the Division of Neuropathology, Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine http://labs.pathology.jhu.edu/koliatsos.

Research focus in the Koliatsos Lab is molecular mechanisms of neural injury and repair, with current emphasis on axonal injury/degeneration and axonal protection using genetic and smallmolecule strategies. Our disease emphasis is traumatic brain injury and related neurodegenerative diseases and our model systems are visual and motor (corticospinal tract).

Candidates with a doctoral degree (Ph.D. or M.D. or both) and strong background in cellular/molecular neuroscience or experimental neuropathology are encouraged to apply. Experience with in vivo models/procedures, state-of-the-art neuroanatomy and microscopy is essential. Experience with molecular neurobiology is highly desirable.
