A postdoctoral position is immediately available in the Department of Anesthesiology at Duke University Medical Center. The projects are aimed at dissecting the mechanisms underlying brain damage after ischemia and reperfusion injury in fully established murine models of ischemic stroke and cardiac arrest. We use a wide spectrum of approaches, including biochemistry, immunology, molecular biology, genetically modified mouse models, and mouse behavior tests.

Self-motivated individuals who recently obtained a PhD or MD degree and are currently in the US are encouraged to apply. The ideal candidates should have a strong background in molecular biology and experimental neuroscience, must be creative and capable of working independently as well as part of a team, and will be expected to work on several projects in parallel, analyze data, write manuscripts, and also assist in research grant application data collection. Experience in rodent behavioral testing and surgical procedures is highly desirable.

Interested candidates should send cover letter, CV and contact information of 2 references to Dr. Wei Yang (
