Lab-Liang- Post-Doctoral Fellow

The Wistar Institute, 3601 Spruce Street, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, United States of America Req #461

 Monday, November 9, 2020

The Wistar Institute has an opening for an ambitious and productive Post-Doctoral Fellow to join the laboratory of Dr. Chengyu Liang to investigate the molecular mechanisms of the DNA repair pathway and the lysosome pathway in melanoma prevention/immunotherapy.

Research in the Liang Lab is centered on understanding the basic principle of cellular processes including autophagy, apoptosis, DNA damage/repair, and intracellular trafficking to answer key questions in cancer development and infectious disease. The lab is a multi-disciplinary, highly interactive team, and postdocs are expected to conduct independent and challenging research under the PI’s close supervision and work in a highly collaborative manner.

Candidates should have their PhD or be close to obtaining their doctoral degree in a related field and should have a record of publications. Strong laboratory experience with penetrating knowledge of molecular/cellular biology, biochemistry, and immunology techniques is required. Proficiency in mice experiments and demonstrated ability to work independently with self-initiative and pro-active thinking is also required. Previous experience with ‘omics’ approaches and bioinformatics is highly desirable. The ideal candidate will have the highest scientific integrity and strong commitment to research excellence and achieving assigned objectives.

In addition to the online application, please submit a curriculum vitae and contact details of three references to: Dr. Chengyu Liang, cliang@wistar.org.
