Research Assistant I - Part-time 20 hours
The Department of Gastrointestinal Medical Oncology is a team of highly specialized medical oncologists, scientists, physician assistants, and research nurses who treat gastrointestinal malignancies, including cancers of the liver, bile duct, gallbladder, pancreas, large and small bowel, stomach, esophagus, and rare tumors.
In addition to providing outstanding patient care, GI Medical Oncology supports MD Anderson's goal of research-driven cancer treatment. Department faculty members are focusing on the investigation of new molecular therapies, and other novel agents, that may provide better ways to treat cancers and related diseases of the digestive system.
SUMMARY
Provides technical assistance in carrying out various research projects.
JOB SPECIFIC COMPETENCIES / Key Functions
Conducts experiments and carries out research projects in varied areas of chemistry, biology, physics and other biomedical, dental or related scientific fields.
Constructs, assembles and operates laboratory apparatus and equipment.
Records and evaluates data in accordance with methods requested.
Other duties as assigned
Education Required: Bachelor's degree, major course work in one of the basic sciences.
Experience Required: No experience.
