The Discipline of Microbiology and Immunology at the Chicago Medical School, Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine & Science, invites applications for a full-time, Assistant Professor position, Clinical Educator Track (non-tenure track).  We are seeking a candidate whose primary responsibility will be to teach microbiology throughout the integrated, pre-clinical medical curriculum.  The individual will also be expected to teach microbiology in a podiatry course and graduate course.  The individual will be responsible for organizing lectures, teaching, and designing and facilitating small group and team-based clinical problem sessions.  The individual will also write and administer high quality, clinically relevant assessments.  Innovative pedagogy and involvement in curriculum development and integration are also expected.  Preference will be given to candidates with experience in bacteriology and microbial pathogenesis.

Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine & Science is a graduate-level health sciences university situated on an 85-acre campus in North Chicago, near Lake Michigan.  It is one of six medical schools in the Chicagoland area.

The Medical School recently reorganized its basic science education into six disciplines in the Department of Foundational Sciences and Humanities. The research program of the university has been organized into six research centers with most faculty in the microbiology discipline affiliated with the Center for Cancer Cell Biology, Immunology and Infection.  As a medical school faculty member, the position will also involve service and scholarship in biomedical science or education.
