Microbiology Adjunct Faculty

HCC is seeking experienced microbiology instructors for in-person lab sessions for the Spring 2021 semester. Classes may meet day or evening based on enrollment.

Lecture material for the course will be delivered online via the Blackboard platform, with a preference for synchronous instruction. Course content includes the general characteristics of microorganisms, emphasizing host-parasite relationships, details of morphology and physiology, methods of control and problems of virulence. Consideration is given to the nonpathogenic forms. The laboratory parallels the discussion and provides experience in microbial technique.

The course includes a total of 45 hours of lecture and 45 hours of laboratory.

A Master’s degree in the subject or a closely-related subject and experience teaching Microbiology, using a Learning Management System (LMS), and experience with classroom technology are required.  Applicants must possess lab skills specific to course requirements.  Professional experience in the discipline is a plus.
