The Department of Genome Sciences at the University of Washington is continuing to recruit outstanding faculty. Research in the department encompasses genetic, genomic and proteomic analysis of humans and model organisms; population and evolutionary genetics; technology development; and computational biology.

The Department of Genome Sciences strives for a just, equitable environment in which scientists of all backgrounds pursue answers to fundamental questions in biology. The department’s efforts to foster equity in science include a summer research program for undergraduates from underrepresented backgrounds; recruitment of graduate students at ABRCMS/SACNAS conferences; and department-wide symposia focused on fostering diversity, equity, and inclusion.  Our faculty, trainees and staff develop and utilize cutting-edge approaches and technologies to interpret variation across the genome, proteome, and regulatory landscape, working toward the ultimate goal of understanding disease risk and best medical practices across people of varying ages, genders, and genetic backgrounds.

The department invites applications for a full-time faculty position at the rank of ASSISTANT PROFESSOR, tenure-track. The successful candidate will be expected to establish an active research program and engage in teaching and service.
