The Department of Toxicology & Cancer Biology is recruiting NIH grants-funded Post-Doctoral Scholars to study the mechanism of carcinogenesis, cancer metastasis and develop new cancer therapies (drug repurposing and nanoparticle-mediated drug delivery). Competitive salaries and benefits will be provided to qualified candidates. Candidates should have a recent Ph.D. degree with strong background in cell/molecular biology, cancer biology, toxicology or chemistry. Experiences in studying cancer epigenetics, non-coding RNAs especially long non-coding RNAs, functional RNA modifications especially the m6A modification, cancer stem cells or nanoparticle-mediated drug delivery with skills in handling mice, performing surgeries to produce tumors in mice and treating mice with commonly-used drug/toxicant administration approaches would be advantageous.

The Department of Toxicology and Cancer Biology is located at the University of Kentucky Medical Center; adjacent to the Markey Cancer Center, which is an NCI-designated Cancer Center. Members of the department are actively engaged in a variety of graduate education and research areas, including basic & translational cancer biology, forensic science and environmental toxicology.
