Position Summary
The Postdoctoral Fellow position is available immediately in the Department of Immuno-Oncology at Beckman Research Institute in City of Hope Comprehensive Cancer Center, to explore mechanism of immune evasion in hematologic malignancies and to develop novel immunotherapeutic strategies. We seek applications from candidates with experience in hematology, immunology and/or cancer immunotherapy, with strong interests in translational research in animal models of human malignancies as well as in clinical studies. The environment of Beckman Research Institute is highly interactive and these projects will involve multiple collaborations across our Institution.

Key Responsibilities include:
  • The ideal candidate will be able to work independently on molecular and cellular mechanisms of immunosuppression in humanized and syngeneic mouse models of leukemia/lymphoma utilizing the original oligonucleotide-based strategies for targeting myeloid cells and B cells.
  • They can also participate in the ongoing clinical translation of the oligonucleotide CpG-STAT3 inhibitors to cancer immunotherapy.
  • They will be responsible for drafting manuscripts, progress reports and presenting the results internally as well as extramurally when needed. The salary will commensurate with experience, with a possibility for promotion to more senior position.

Qualifications
Basic education, experience and skills required for consideration:
  • Ph.D. or related doctoral degree
  • Skills in multicolor flow cytometry, immune assays and/or animal studies are an advantage.
  • Highly motivated individuals with strong communication skills and ability to work in high paced, multidisciplinary environment are invited to apply.
