We are seeking a Therapeutic Specialist to build our new Rheumatology commercial organisation for Greece/Cyprus, supporting the first launch in Rheumatoid Arthritis (RA). This role will ensure that all patients who stand to benefit from this innovative medicine will have the chance to do so.

The candidate joining us in the role will have the opportunity to work in an excellent working environment for an innovative company having a patient-centric approach. The candidate will also be able to support the launch of a molecule which represents the next wave of innovation in RA and be developed professionally through involving from the start-up phase of the Inflammation franchise

Specific job requirements

In this role you will be one of the key contributors in our new Inflammation franchise, providing patients and healthcare professionals access to our life-saving drugs. The focus will be on highly specialised medical doctors in clinics and practices who provide treatment to patients with RA. Our Therapeutic Specialists are enthusiastic about our patient-centric approach and well versed in discussing and explaining the characteristics and benefits of our treatment(s) in this highly scientific and versatile ecosystem with a focus on physicians.

Specific Job Responsibilities

Responsible for achieving coverage and frequency targets and consistently achieving sales targets in assigned territory

Represent Gilead's products and services to a defined customer base within a specific geographic area

Utilise a level of product and therapeutic disease working knowledge to promote the appropriate use of Gilead products to healthcare professionals

Prepare business plan for own territory, assign targets and communicate required actions to achieve goals. With guidance, initiate systems to monitor sales progress and action plans

May represent company at medical congresses and promote company products at such events

Work co-operatively with other company departments (Medical, Marketing, Market Access) on various cross-functional projects

Work as an individual contributor

Build and extend business relationships with RA specialists or experts based on patients' benefit

Assist in the identification and resolution of perception issues and opportunities, and communicate proactively to Marketing and Sales management

Complete necessary administrative tasks in a timely manner e.g. updating customer database, expenses, etc.

Responsible for achieving the competency levels required in the role

Compliance with all regulatory agencies, and state and national law is required

Knowledge, Experience and Skills

The ideal candidate will have a passion and the ambition for commercialising breakthrough medicine in specialty care, a strong competitive mindset, robust scientific acumen and a tactical approach

Current or early past (within the last two years) customer facing roles in the therapeutic area of rheumatology are mandatory

Bachelor's Degree in Science (Biology, Chemistry, Pharmacy etc.) or Business/Management is required

Demonstrated ability to adapt quickly to a changing environment, understanding new business challenges and how digital solutions can help overcome them

Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to lead and build working relationships either internally or externally, along with strong influencing and negotiating skills

Ability to develop strong relationships with Therapeutic Area experts

Self-motivation and willingness to work with a general level of autonomy and independence

Familiarity with industry trends and remain current with competitors' resources and practices

Ability to speak about the pros and cons in a competitive market (overall goals of plan, dosing, duration, side effects etc.) according to the marketing/sales strategy

Competency in identifying rising issues/solutions/opportunities and to present/communicate arguments to management/marketing

Must demonstrate good analytical skills, be able to identify and understand moderate to complex issues and problems, and interpret information in a manner that provides appropriate recommendations to management and specialists

Collaborative spirit as need to work in cross-functional teams

Proven experience in account planning
