We have the following exciting opportunity:

Associate Director, US HIV Prevention Medical Affairs

Can be based Remote or in Foster City, CA

We are looking for a highly motivated Medical Affairs Associate DIrector who is passionate about patient-centric HIV care, prevention and Pre-exposure Prophylaxis (PrEP). Candidate must be a self-starter with a proven track record of success in prior roles. They will play a critical and exciting role in helping the US Medical Affairs organization support current HIV Prevention therapies and launch its future HIV prevention pipeline products. The Associate Director will report to the US HIV Prevention Strategy Lead and will work directly with the US and Global teams.

Essential Duties and Job Functions
  • Is a knowledge expert for HIV prevention
  • Leads content management collaborations between the US and Global teams
  • Manages projects related to analysis of novel, emerging data and determines relevant information to incorporate into medical content training.
  • Identifies need for and oversees creation of training documents, as needed, to help field Medical Scientists answer key questions or to summarize relevant medical guidelines, studies, or product label updates
  • Works with the Global MA HIV prevention team to review, update, and provide insight to Medical Affairs slide decks and local and global HIV Prevention response documents
  • Identifies data gaps in HIV prevention research to inform Global Medical Affairs team of research needs
  • Works collaboratively with Medical Scientists, Medical Information, Clinical Research and Clinical Pharmacology to support responses to medical inquiries
  • Provides medical and scientific input on US Promotional Review Committee as needed
  • Attends medical conferences to assess/gather relevant information and lead activities related to conference deck development and training
  • Collaborates with strategy lead and other key stakeholders to develop the US Plan of Action and ensure alignment of team activities
  • Supports and plans US and Global HIV Medical Affairs Advisory Programs, as needed
  • Point of contact for commercial learning and development to support training needs of new colleagues

Knowledge, Experience and Skills
  • MD, DO, NP, PA, PharmD or other advanced health care degree,
  • 5-8 years industry experience preferred
  • Relevant clinical experience in HIV needed
  • Experience in provision of medical information, slide development, and medical writing is preferred
  • Excellent verbal, written, and visual communication skills and interpersonal skills are required, with experience in preparing and delivering PowerPoint presentations
  • Experienced with patient-centric care desired
  • Committed to continuing education to maintain knowledge base
  • Ability to utilize moderately complex scientific resources across a variety of different settings
  • Ability to work collaboratively and experience working on cross-functional teams
  • Ability to travel to domestic and international conferences which will include occasional weekend travel is required
