Research Field and Overview

We work on the development of biologically inspired catalysts and their application to energy conversion and production systems. Specifically, we aim to understand nature’s ingenuity towards multielectron transfer catalysis, electron/proton transport, metabolic regulation, responsiveness to external stimuli, and energy management in deep sea environments to develop the novel materials and systems necessary to effectively manage renewable energy sources.

Job description

Lead the field of sustainable chemical production using biochemistry and catalytic chemistry through the projects outlined below, as well as participating in a core role in the management of our lab.

 

・Identification of useful enzymes and metabolic pathways for the chemical production using carbon dioxide as a substrate

・Prediction of enzymatic and metabolic activities and their verification through experiments

 

The successful candidate is expected to conduct research and development on topics specified above and to contribute to the management of the laboratory. Senior Research Scientist is also expected to assist the laboratory head.
