Responsibilities

A lab in the Stem Cell and Gene Therapy program has a position for a postdoctoral fellow / research associate to study novel immunotherapy approaches to target T cells in vivo. The position involves additional responsibilities, such as development of immune-based conditioning regimens, processing and analysis of primary blood and tissue samples, and culture/analysis of tumor samples and other tissues. The candidate will study and develop methods to maximize T cell transduction and in vivo delivery of viral vectors. They will be expected to work closely with diverse study personnel and publish and present their work in both internal and external events.

 

Qualifications

Required:

  • A PhD or MD in a scientific field is required
  • The individual must possess knowledge of T cell biology, basic immunology, vector construction and multicolor flow cytometry

Preferred:

  • Two years of post-doctoral research experience
  • Background in transplantation biology or immunology is highly desired
  • Experience is preferred in one or more of the following areas: hematopoietic T cell cultures/model systems, in vivo studies, and/or basic bioinformatic analysis techniques
  • Previous experience in gene therapy/gene editing, and/or molecular biology techniques e.g. quantitative PCR and cloning is desired, but not required
  • To be successful in this position, the candidate must be highly motivated and able to work independently to design and execute experiments, possess a high level of initiative and attention to detail, and must also be able to multi-task and prioritize work at short notice. They must also be capable of working independently in a team environment.
