Applications are sought for Postdoctoral Associate or Staff Scientist positions in Prof. Weihang Chai’s lab at the Department of Cancer Biology, Cardinal Bernardin Cancer Center, Loyola University Stritch School of Medicine. The Chai lab studies the molecular mechanism governing genome stability and telomere maintenance using molecular biology, cellular imaging, genomics, and animal model approaches. The successful candidates will be expected to conduct original research and publish research results in peer reviewed journals and present at national meetings. Required qualifications: Ph.D. degree with strong training in biochemistry, cell or molecular biology; demonstrated expertise in using mouse models to study cancer initiation and progression is preferred, with experience on animal handling, breeding, and tumor monitoring; prior research experience with DNA damage repair or DNA replication is preferred but not required; and a publication record consistent with background; strong communication skills, both orally and written.
