Postdoctoral Fellows in Cancer Epigenetics

The Whetstine Laboratory at the Fox Chase Cancer Center is hiring highly ambitious and self-motivated Postdoctoral Fellows in Cancer Epigenetics.  The laboratory uses state-of-the-art technologies and collaborations with leading scientists and clinicians to address the following areas: (1) the identification and characterization of epigenetic mechanisms driving DNA amplification and chromosomal rearrangement, therapeutic resistance and tumor heterogeneity; (2) the impact of cancer-associated epigenetic factor variants (mutations and germline) on drug responses; (3) the direct role of chromatin factors in regulating cell division, especially DNA replication; and (4) the impact epigenetic mechanisms have on immune therapy response and resistance. Some example publications addressing these areas of interest and laboratory approaches are: Black et al. (2010) Mol Cell; Black et al. (2013) Cell; Van Rechem et al. (2015) Cancer Discovery; Mishra et al. (2018) Cell; Clarke et al. (2020) Cancer Discovery; Van Rechem et al. (2020) BBA GRM.  Additional details regarding the laboratory research can be found at www.whetstinelab.com.  The Whetstine laboratory seeks candidates that published peer reviewed manuscripts and that have strong expertise in genomics, chromatin biology, molecular biology, cancer biology, and/or biochemistry.  Candidates must have a PhD and/or MD in lieu of PhD.  Please email a CV, a cover letter that states research interest(s) and goals, and the name of at least three references to Johnathan Whetstine (Johnathan.Whetstine@fccc.edu), Director, Cancer Epigenetics Institute, Co-Leader, Cancer Signaling and Epigenetics Program, Fox Chase Cancer Center.

Fox Chase Cancer Center is a NCI-designated comprehensive cancer center that is home to world-class clinicians, scientists and research facilities.  Fox Chase offers a rich and supportive training environment, and has consistently ranked in the top 10 places for postdoctoral training in the United States. Moreover, Fox Chase is part of the rich scientific and biotech environment in the Philadelphia region.  Fox Chase has an excellent career placement record in academia and industry, as well as other careers in science.
