The Department of Environmental Sciences (ENSC) at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville (SIUE) is seeking candidates for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in Environmental Health/Toxicology.
The Assistant Professor will be expected to teach lecture and laboratory courses that support both graduate and undergraduate programs in ENSC. Teaching assignments will include environmental health and waste management, occupational health, environmental epidemiology, environmental statistics, or courses in the applicant’s area of expertise. Applicants will develop an active and independent research program in environmental health/toxicology and be expected to engage in scholarly work, involve students in research, seek external grants to support research, and produce scholarly publications. Preference will be given to applicants whose research would be synergistic with existing faculty and contribute to interdisciplinary collaborations. Successful candidates will demonstrate commitment to inclusion, equity, and diversity in teaching, research/creative activity, and service. Each member of the College of Arts and Sciences is responsible for actively supporting the College’s commitment to inclusion, equity, and diversity. Service activities in support of ENSC, the College of Arts and Sciences, and the University, are expected.
Minimum Qualifications: A Ph.D. degree is required; postdoctoral and teaching experience is desired.
This is a nine-month academic, tenure-track, beginning August 16, 2021. Salary will commensurate with qualifications and experience. Excellent benefits package included.
