Applications are invited for the following post in the Centre for Chinese Herbal Medicine Drug Development, which is located in the Hong Kong Science Park.

Research Assistant Professor (Gut Microbiome and Omics) (PR0088/20-21)

The appointee is expected to perform the following roles:
•    to conduct the high quality and innovative research to explore the mechanism of disease and whether and how the therapeutic remedies including Chinese herbal formula takes effects;
•    to supervise research assistants and PhD students;
•    to apply external competitive research grants; and
•    to undertake any other duties as assigned.

Potential candidates should have:
•    a PhD degree or equivalent in the biological and biomedical sciences or related disciplines;
•    at least three years of postdoctoral experience, with technologies such as gut microbiome, metabolomics, single-cell omics, molecular imaging, gene editing, etc., in the studies;
•    acquainted with basic and translational study research on gut-microbiome and host interaction in human gastrointestinal diseases, metabolic diseases, or immunological diseases; and
•    a very strong track record in appealing external grant record and outstanding publication in the above-mentioned research areas.
 
Initial appointment will be offered on a fixed-term contract up to three years. Re-appointment thereafter will be subject to mutual agreement.

Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
