Position Summary
The Beckman Research Institute of City of Hope is looking for a talented Postdoctoral Fellow in the laboratory of Dr. Nadia Carlesso, https://www.cityofhope.org/people/carlesso-nadia , in the Department of Hematologic Malignancies and Translational Science. This is an opportunity for a junior Ph.D. fellow with outstanding credentials in basic research of leukemia/hematopoiesis or cancer biology.
Ongoing research in the Carlesso's laboratory investigates the link between inflammation and leukemogenesis and the contribution of the bone marrow microenvironment and inflammation to leukemia progression. The lab utilizes in vivo models of leukemia and inflammation, genomics, biochemistry, proteomics, high throughput screening, in vivo imaging and mathematical modeling.
Suitable candidates should be highly motivated and technically accomplished.
The research site is located in the thriving research and medical community of City of Hope in the greater Los Angeles area. The newly established Gehr Family Center for Leukemia Research emphasizes basic and translation research and is supported by outstanding core facilities including functional genomics, in vivo imaging, mouse and leukemia tissue bank, pharmacoanalytical and GMP facilities for new drug development and exceptional sequencing and bioinformatics services.
Qualifications
Basic education, experience and skills required for consideration:
- Must have recent Ph.D. degree in molecular biology, genetics, biochemistry or related areas;
- Must have strong publication record.
- Experience working with mice;
- Expertise in bioinformatics analysis is highly regarded.
