One post-doctoral fellowship is available in the Department of Cellular and Molecular Biology at the University of Texas health Science Center at Tyler (UTHCT). Our institution is rapidly growing, and substantive resources have been allocated to build its basic and translational research portfolio. The Department has recently set up a state of-the-art imaging system including Leica SP8 Laser Confocal Microscope, OMX Super-Resolution Microscope, and Total Internal Reflection Fluorescence Microscope combined with Yokogawa Spinning Disc Confocal Unit and Total Internal Reflection Fluorescence Microscope for single molecule tracking capability with FIONA analysis.
The research of the applicant should be in the areas of cardiovascular, lung, and metabolic medicines. Candidates with hands-on experience in cardiovascular diseases (aneurysm, atherosclerosis, hypertension, and vascular development), lung (IPF, and pleural fibrosis, and so on) and/or metabolic diseases (obesity, type 2 diabetes and its complications including hepatic steatosis and gastrointestinal metabolic homeostasis) are welcome to apply. The postdoc will lead and substantiate such translational research efforts to gain new mechanistic insight in such diseases using different genetic engineered animal models.
Projects will be collaborative and multi-disciplinary. The position is available immediately.
