MOSTMICRO-ITQB Research Unit – ITQB-NOVA

RESEARCH POSITIONS

The MOSTMICRO-ITQB Research Unit of ITQB-NOVA, in Portugal, invites applications for Researcher positions in one of the following areas:

  • Computational Omics
  • Infection Biology
  • Chemical Biology
  • Experimental Virology
  • Bio-NMR
  • Other areas relevant to the activity of MOSTMICRO-ITQB Research Unit

We seek candidates with an excellent track record, with at least 3 years postdoctoral research experience, to join our multidisciplinary research team. We will select four researchers with a maximum of one researcher per area.

Candidates should propose innovative research plans to establish an independent research group but be willing to participate in existing research programs of the Unit. Candidates are also expected to contribute to the ongoing Master and PhD Programs at ITQB-NOVA.

MOSTMICRO-ITQB will support successful applicants with a start-up package, individual lab space, modern facilities, technical and administrative support, and a salary position at the TRU 54 level, corresponding to a gross annual salary of 45,728.90 EUR (with social benefits).

ITQB-NOVA (www.itqb.unl.pt) is an academic research institute from the Universidade NOVA de Lisboa devoted to research and advanced education (at master, doctoral, and postdoctoral level) in Biology and Chemistry. ITQB NOVA is located in Oeiras, just outside Lisbon, in a campus hosting several research Institutes and a highly international scientific community Due to its international nature, the academic life at ITQB NOVA is all held in English.

The MOSTMICRO-ITQB Research Unit is rated Excellent (top mark) by the Portuguese Foundation for Science and Technology. The Unit, started in 2013, aims to understand biological processes at the Molecular, Structural, Cellular and Population levels, with a focus on microbes important for human health, biotechnology and the environment.
