Assistant Professor – Neuroscience

The Department of Neuroscience at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, under the leadership of Dr. Joseph Takahashi, invites applications at the Assistant Professor level for a tenure-track Faculty position in neuroscience with an emphasis on mechanistic understanding of nervous system function. Applicants should possess a Ph.D. in Neuroscience or related field. We seek outstanding scientists addressing molecular, biochemical and genetic mechanisms underlying brain function, as well as those individuals using high-resolution imaging, behavior, and neural circuit methodology. Scientists within the Department of Neuroscience participate in a vibrant, interdisciplinary, interdepartmental, and highly collaborative research community within the University, and enjoy access to state-of-art research cores including imaging, metabolic phenotyping, behavioral phenotyping, protein chemistry, structural biology, cryo-electron microscopy, genomics, genetics and transgenic technology.  The Department of Neuroscience is a core component of the newly formed Peter O’Donnell Jr. Brain Institute at UT Southwestern.
