Research Associate Position

Boston University Medical Campus

Research Associate position is available in the laboratory of Dr. Ruslan Aphasizhev at the Department of Molecular and Cell Biology, Boston University Medical Campus. Our NIH-funded program focuses on mechanisms of RNA processing in trypanosomes. Current projects encompass mitochondrial transcription, mRNA editing, stability and translation, and small RNA biogenesis. Our collaborations extend into structural biology, mass spectrometry, super-resolution microscopy and bioinformatics. For details, see recent publications below. Position requires a strong background in molecular biology, biochemistry or structural biology, and a record of peer-reviewed publications in reputable journals. Experience in RNA-Seq, ribosome profiling, protein purification or mass spectrometry is desirable. A bioinformatician interested in joining a state-of-the-art molecular laboratory with emphasis on deep sequencing and interactomics is also encouraged to apply. Starting salary is $50,000 plus generous employee benefits. More senior applicants will be considered at the level commensurate with experience. Funding will be provided for at least three years.
