The Department of Microbiology and Molecular Genetics in the McGovern Medical School of The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston is building a program in molecular parasitology and invites exceptional applicants for this open-rank tenure track position in this field. Candidates must have a Ph.D. and/or M.D. and postdoctoral experience, and will be expected to build a research program that attracts extramural funding and to contribute to graduate and medical education. The position offers competitive start-up funds and laboratory space in a dynamic and highly interactive research environment. 

Applicants at the Assistant Professor level should have a track record of innovative research at the cutting edge of molecular parasitology and the capability to develop an independently-funded research program. Applicants at higher ranks must have an established and extramurally-funded research program.  Salary will be commensurate with experience and the University offers a competitive benefits package.
