The Department of Cell, Developmental and Integrative Biology (CDIB) https://www.uab.edu/medicine/cdib/ at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) seeks highly-qualified applicants to fill up to three positions for tenure-earning Assistant Professor or Associate Professor with a research program focused on mechanisms regulating development and organogenesis, causes of birth defects, stem cell biology in model systems with a strong developmental biology context, or application of developmental programs to regenerative medicine and tissue repair.
Candidates are expected to be highly motivated with excellent communication, teaching, and writing skills, and to have demonstrated ability to conduct independent research with an impactful publication record. The successful candidate must establish a robust, innovative, and externally funded research program, and contribute to teaching and mentorship activities at the medical and graduate level. Applicants must hold a Ph.D. and/or M.D. (or similar doctoral degree) with preference given to candidates who bring innovative approaches that complement existing expertise within the department.
