Postdoctoral Fellow in Physiology - LSU Health Sciences Center
A postdoctoral fellow position is available immediately in the Department of Physiology at Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center, New Orleans, LA on a collaborative NIH R01 project. This position is available to investigate the effects of chronic vape inhalation on the homeostasis of the renin-angiotensin system and the development of cardiovascular and pulmonary diseases. A multidisciplinary approach will be employed combining the state-of-the-art vaping system for mice, cardiac function tests (echocardiogram, pressure-volume recording), and blood pressure monitoring (telemetry). In addition, transgenic and knockout mouse models will be employed to dissect the molecular mechanisms of how chronic vape inhalation alters components of the renin-angiotensin system and predisposes users to cardiovascular and pulmonary diseases. Ideal candidates with a recent PhD in Physiology or a related discipline are encouraged to apply.
